When my neighbour asked me to help transform a chemically managed area of council-owned grass into a wildlife-friendly community space, I was delighted to be involved.
A bold, colourful planting scheme was chosen to make the transformation immediately visible to residents and passers-by. Pollinator-friendly perennials and grasses were carefully selected to thrive in this challenging, dry, sloping site while providing long-lasting interest with minimal maintenance.
A winding woodchip path invites people into the planting, creating an attractive, space that supports wildlife and encourages the local community to connect with nature.
